Over the weekend I was able to find a chunk of time to work on and finish “All My Eggs in One Basket”. I had done the tracing and coloring earlier and did not have time to get the stitching done. It seems like such a complicated design, but I was able to breeze through it in no time at all.
I love the pastel feel of it. I darkened the colors heavily when I colored it. The last piece I did, after the heat setting process, was to light. So I put the crayon wax on heavily, now the shading seemed to strong and splotchy. After the ironing, I was pleased how well it finally blended.
I have used the Sparkles floss before, but not as an accent to the thread. I was amazed of how it looks like beading. You really have to look close to see it is not a bead. It just gives it little extra pizzazz.
I am not sure what I will make with Sparkles floss next. I’m thinking a small tablecloth or table runner. I don’t have a pattern or idea at the minute so I will probably wait till I find the perfect idea. The one criticism that I have is that I have to put it on a colored background and not just a tonal white. Oh well I can always make another one.
And sew on,
Mary

A very pretty basket. How long did this take to make?
Thanks for asking. It took me about 8 hours.
